Adipex-P

Adipex-P (Phentermine Hcl) is used as an appetite suppressant in conjunction with an overall diet plan to reduce weight.

How to Take Adipex
Adipex is best taken on an empty stomach one hour before meals. As Adipex may cause sleeplessness, you should avoid taking a dose late in the day. Always take Adipex as prescribed. Do not take it more often or longer than directed.

Side Effects
Dry mouth, sleeplessness, irritability, stomach upset or constipation may occur during the first few days as you adjust to taking Adipex. If these effects persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor.

Drug Interactions
Before using Adipex, it's important to inform your physician about all the medicines you use, (prescription and nonprescription) especially if you take high blood pressure medicine or MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) or any other weight loss medicine. Decongestants are commonly found in OTC cough and cold remedies.

Precautions
Before using Adipex, tell your doctor your complete medical history especially if you have high blood pressure, an over-active thyroid, glaucoma, diabetes or emotional problems.

Consult with your doctor if you think you are pregnant or before breast-feeding. Limit alcohol use as this can increase unwanted side effects of dizziness.  Adipex is not recommended for use in children. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Adipex, do not double the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.

Notes

Appetite suppressants such as Adipex are not a substitute for proper diet. For maximum effects, Adipex must be used in conjunction with a diet and exercise program.

Do not share this medication with others. Keep Adipex and all medications out of the reach of children.
